Notes of Gratitude
We’re so grateful for the contributions that Jennifer has made to our daughter’s development as a competitive eventer. Upon joining Jennifer’s program at the age of seven, and through her high school years, we grew to greatly appreciate Jennifer’s approach to training both horse and rider. Her approach is specific to her pupil and mount, considers the age and maturity of each, and challenges her students to bring their very best self to their task. Her mastery of riding technique, training, anatomy, psychology, etc., come together to develop well-rounded young adults who understand how special their relationship with their mount is, and the real value behind winning and losing. We only wish we had more children to bring her! - J.F.
Jennifer has been part of our life and equestrian journey for more than 7 years. Our then 13 year old teen with autism was interested in expanding his riding to English and learning to jump. Jennifer matched him with a fabulous horse named Laddy and they all became fast friends. Laddy and Jennifer patiently taught our son the foundation of jumping. Our son learned to groom, tack and bathe a horse under the eyes of the amazing grooms. The acceptance of the barn staff, students and families offered our son a welcoming place to learn and grow. Fellow students and families silently cheered and smiled from the fence with us each time a new milestone was reached or a fence was raised. The entire experience was a gift made possible by Jennifer’s commitment to excellence, her thoughtful teaching approach and the exceptional barn atmosphere she creates. So many wonderful life lessons are learned astride, in the barn and with hard work. Her horsemanship and knowledge is first rate and we are so grateful that our son continues to be involved in her equestrian world. - S.Mc.
Our family met Jennifer 10 years ago when she agreed to help our daughter cultivate her love for horses, she was 3 years old at the time. No other trainers would even consider teaching a 3 year old. Right there I knew that Jennifer was a special type of person. She has been very patient with our daughter over the years helping and guiding her to better her horsemanship skills but equally as important helping her with life-skills and confidence building that is so important for teenage girls.
When our daughter started her first lesson she asked Jennifer for 3 things, she wanted to ride a white horse, she wanted to go faster and she wanted to jump. Fast-forward 10 years and Jennifer helped match our daughter and Big Danny, he is white, he is fast and he can jump.
Our family is grateful to Jennifer for her impact on our family. - A.V.
Katlyn McMorris is a ray of sunshine and a light in the barn. As an adult rider re-entering the arena after MANY years away her smile, good humor, patience and knowledge are an ideal match. There are no big fences in my future, only expanded riding skills and horsemanship, but Katlyn slowly teaches the basics and explains things until my “old” body and mind can grasp the concepts. Katlyn encourages and continues to teach skills inside and outside the arena. New “mom” horse care questions and hand holding are available upon request and Katlyn is always responsive, well-informed and helpful. She is a wonderful instructor and the big smile is the bonus! - S.M.
Our daughter has been so fortunate for the past 6 years to be coached by Jennifer Rousseau. Jennifer is an exceptional coach, trainer and role model. Jennifer has helped our daughter grow into a strong, independent, hard working teenager. We will never be able to thank her enough! - V.M.
We are so lucky to have had the opportunity to have our daughter trained under an exceptional coach like Jennifer. Jennifer can “read” any situation and understand when to push for more and when to take things slow. She teaches with positive reinforcement and a strong focus on developing basics in a rider’s seat and hands. Jennifer is more than just a riding coach, she also teaches her student compassion, selflessness and humility which is very much in the core of Jennifer’s nature. We can only provide the highest recommendations for her as a coach. - D.H.
Ms. Rousseau has been an unparalleled positive influence on my two daughters’ development as competitive equestrians, horse and pony caregivers, and, most importantly, as respectful, responsible individuals. Ms. Rousseau has been coaching and training my girls for over a decade, she is one of the most respected “adults” in my daughters’ lives. There are not enough accolades I can bestow upon her to articulate the gratitude and respect we have for everything her work ethic, expertise and dedication to her craft – for riders and horses in equal measure – have given us. She has been an amazing presence in our lives and I would recommend and endorse her, her team and her program to anyone. - T.G.
Katlyn McMorris has a wonderful eye for detail and has been an exceptional second coach for our daughter.
Our daughter is so fortunate to be part of team L'Esprit Equestrian. - V.M.
My daughter and I started riding with Team L'Esprit in April 2015. We hoped to learn eventing and to improve our riding. We had no idea how happy we and our horses would be in this program! With the training and support of Jennifer, Lizzie, and Katlyn, our confidence and passion for the sport has grown more than we had ever dreamed. Their ever present knowledge and understanding of the horses, riders, and the sport coupled with their supportive and positive attitude make for a truly amazing experience! - M.B.
Jennifer Rousseau is someone we are privileged to have in our lives. She is not only trainer extraordinaire, but a wonderful role model and mentor to my daughter. She exemplifies the best of the equestrian world in her teaching methods, love and respect for the horses themselves and in her dedication to her students in and out of the saddle. - C.S.
